Likely to be recognized as the new Texas State Record Archery
Whitetail is the buck arrowed by Sanger, Texas hunter Jeff Duncan.
Jeff's trophy has a green B&C score of over 230 inches and
will surpass the current record by quite a large margin. The buck
was taken in the Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge on opening
weekend of the Texas rifle season. This area is hunted by draw
only, hunters must be drawn from a rather large pool of entries to
earn a permit and a three day hunt using archery gear only. This
deer was reported to have been seen by local landowners for the
last couple of years. He was given the nickname "Bigboy".
We at the TexasOutdoorsman.com would agree that the name fits!
Congratulations, Jeff.
That's what hunting in Texas is all about!
